Protecting Celebrities From Threats

Securing the safety and security of top leaders of countries, celebrities and the rich and famous has never been easy as they are commonly the victims of terror threat, kidnapping and stalking. The nature of their jobs, the position they are into and the money attached to their names and positions pose as temptations to the public. Despite security measures, some well-planned schemes were almost successful, some others were not but a few crimes were really committed into action and proved to be successful for the perpetrators.

Managing celebrity security is the most difficult because of the nature of their profession as it require them to be always on the spotlight and be with a large crowd. They become more vulnerable to threats because of their lifestyles. Despite their status, many try to live as normal as possible like going shopping unaccompanied to the point of risking their lives. We hear over the radio, read on the papers and see on the television and the internet so much about paparazzis sticking their cameras in front of celebrities’ faces and stalking them for days just so to take a photo or two and how celebrities abhor being hounded in this obnoxious fashion. Paparazzi harassment, however, dims in comparison to kidnapping and death threats. Celebrities are always on guard to maintain their safety and of their families taking extraordinary security measures in place at all times to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Taking a kidnap threat seriously against Australian actor Russell Crowe in 2001, the FBI insisted on accompanying him to the Academy Awards just to protect him. The FBI later informed him that the threat came from the Al-Qaeda. It was so fortunate that the plot was discovered before it was really committed. What about those that were literally materialized into action?

In 1985, Julio Iglesias’ father, Julio Iglesias, Sr., was kidnapped by Basque terrorists and held captive for 2 weeks, repeatedly threatened with death but was later rescued by Spanish police unharmed on the day the ransom money was supposed to be release to the kidnappers. Although he was never harmed physically, he was badly traumatized by the incident.

Because of this, the need for security globally has increased. The forecasted expenditure allotted on security services alone, by 2012 is expected at $200 billion.

Online, people are not going to be typing your name in the search engines to find you unless your a celebrity who as already made it. You must know how to strategically promote yourself.

Here is how you can attract new fans.

First, build a single page website. This website should be a single page website that serves one pupose, to get people to subscribe to your mailing list or fan club as most sites would call it.

This web page should have a sample of your music. The page should also invite them to join your mailing list to get more samples of your work. 1-3 Full-length songs.

Once they get on your mailing list, you can offer to sell them your full album at a discount. Make it a one-time-offer that is automatically presented new subscribers right after they opt-in to your mailing list.

Royalty free hip hop beats and hip hop beat making software are affiliate programs I promote to my mailing lists on a hip hop site I am currently joint venturing with my sister on.

You can also promote hip hop cd’s from Amazons affiliate program or some other music site with an affiliate program. Hip Hop clothes, dance videos, and information products, are yet a few other products you can promote.

So above and beyond your own album, you can cash in on your mailing lists passion for everything hip hop.

Once you grow you mailing list large enough, you will be able to generate thousands of dollars with the click of a button just by sending out an email broadcast promoting your new album or a new affiliate product!

With your own hip hop related niche site, you get to follow your passion, and get paid for it. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Bubble Pouches And The Artist

If the creation of your artwork takes a great deal of thought and inspiration, then art packing is likely a close second. You have to consider how to best preserve your fine artwork from damage when you consider the various ways to use art packing, and this is especially true if the art is to be moved to another location. Art transport solutions also come into play when you sell a piece of your art, and have to ship it to the new owner. Happily, there are many new as well as classic products for the artist to use for art packing, and they include bubble pouches, clear bags and archival storage boxes.

Bubble pouches make an excellent choice for delicate art transport situations. The bubble pouches have two strong layers of plastic, and in between them is a bubble of air. The pouches are lightweight, making them less expensive to use for mailing or shipping heavy pieces of artwork, and they offer superb protection from scratches or other types of abrasion damage to the surface of the artwork, which is all too common when moving artwork around.

Once you have the artwork where you need it, you will have to have a method for displaying it so that the buying public can look at it without damaging it. This is where clear bags come into play. Clear bags are easy to see through, and thus visual clarity is ensured so that your artwork looks great. These inexpensive bags are also excellent for keeping fingerprint oils off of the print or picture as well.

Another safe method to use for art transport is to utilize a variety of archival storage boxes. These sturdy boxes are useful for not only moving framed pictures to different locations, but other types of three dimensional artwork such as pottery or sculptures. The boxes are made of conservation-quality materials, which helps to prevent acids found in paper from discoloring or yellowing the surface of fine art photographs and paintings. These specialty boxes also come with reinforced metal corners. This means that you can stack several on top of each other, and be assured that your artwork inside will not get crushed and the surface abraded. Artwork storage boxes are also perfect for when you need a safe spot to store pictures that are in rotation, so that they will look as good when you take them out of storage as when you put them in.

Fine art photography framing suppliers online have all of these types of packing materials, and can offer more suggestions about how to best protect your fine artwork.

Celebrities That Wear Eco-friendly, Lab Diamonds

Let’s play Paparazzi for a second and see which celebrities prefer eco-friendly, lab diamonds to mined diamonds. Rumor has it that Gwyneth Paltrow, Minnie Driver, and Angelina Jolie are among the environmentally conscious. They have been seen wearing synthetic diamonds to gala events.

Lab Diamonds Are Ethical

The reason behind their decision is not based on appearance alone. Sure, synthetic diamonds look just like natural diamonds. The desire to wear these lab-grown beauties has more to do with ethics. Because of the unethical way some diamonds are obtained, many celebrities have make a conscious decision to avoid buying them at all costs.

Conflict Diamonds Are Responsible For Civil Rights Violations

As a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN, Angelina Jolie speaks out against human rights violations. Her humanitarian efforts have assisted those struggling in war-torn countries. The last thing that a person in her position would want to do is wear a conflict diamond from a place like Sierra Leone. It would go against everything she was worked so hard to accomplish.

Some Reasons Why Synthetic Diamonds Are So Appealing

There are a number of reasons why lab diamonds appeal to celebrities. First and foremost, they look beautiful and can be put into almost every type of setting. It doesn’t matter if it’s silver, gold or white gold, the stones look amazing as earrings, pendants, bracelets, and rings. They can even be placed into antique settings that are inherited or purchased from antique stores and online dealers.

Next, celebs are all about being eco-friendly. They don’t want to support practices that wreak havoc on the environment or put people’s lives in danger. It is a known fact that conflict diamonds help support violent and illegal activities. They also are the reason why in parts of Africa, entire tracts of land have been devastated, local water sources have been poisoned, indigenous populations have been forced to relocate, and removed the community’s primary source of livelihood has been completely eliminated.

Last but not least, they, like other people, enjoy getting a bargain. Lab-grown diamonds have the same look, appeal, and clarity as natural diamonds. The biggest difference is that they don’t have an enormous price tag affixed to them. This allows individuals from all walks of life to be able to own and enjoy them.

Lab Diamonds Dress Up Any Outfit

You’ll see singers, writers, actors, actresses, professional athletes, and reality TV stars with lab diamonds around their wrists, necks, and fingers. In fact, it isn’t nothing unusual to see a celebrity wearing a stunning piece of jewelry filled with synthetic diamonds. You may see him or her walking around in jeans or wearing a baseball hat. Truth be known, these exquisite, conflict-free diamonds are every bit as luxurious as natural diamonds. That’s why they can dress up even the most casual outfit as demonstrated by the fabulous men and women that wear them.

Iphone Apps That Put Makeup Artist Products Right On Your Phone

These apps help you check out your appearance and pick out makeup artist products without setting foot in a store!

Can your phone make you more beautiful? If a handful of iPhone apps have anything to do with it, the answer is a resounding yes! Here are three products that are helping women find makeup artist products and have fun with beauty right on their phones.

MakeUp This Apple App Store app lets users test out new makeup artist products without ever having to try them on or even set foot in a store. Users simply upload a photo of themselves to their phone and test out products theyre interested in right on the photo.

With 1200 real-life products to choose from, users simply use the apps facial recognition software to apply product to their virtual face and see what they like. If you love a product you can simply buy it right there on your phone or purchase it next time youre in your favorite makeup store.

RealBeautys Instant Celebrity Makeover Heres a great way to kill time on your commute: transform yourself into a red-carpet ready celebrity! This app gives your photo a virtual makeover. Makeup artist products are used to transform your visage with a celebrity hairstyle, makeup look, and designer outfit.

Once youre ready to face your own personal paparazzi, you can share your new look on Facebook or just save it to your phone.

Mirror App It doesnt get much simpler than this. DLP Mobile is busy readying an app for the iPhone 4 that turns your phone into a mirror. Instead of hitting the ladies room after lunch for that midday touchup, now all you need to do is use the app!

It seems the app uses the new phones front-facing camera to create a mirror-like image right on the screen. Can you think of a more high-tech way to check your teeth for leftover spinach?

More than just skin deep, these apps are big business for software developers.

Seven to 10 million iPhone or iTouch users have already downloaded a beauty-related app or indicated they are very interested in doing so, Sunil Verma, founder of mobile ad exchange network Mobiclix, told the New York Times.

While these apps are most popular with young women ages 14 to 17, Verma said many users are grown women interested in how these apps make their lives easier.

Were seeing a lot of single professionals and mothers downloading these apps, he said.

Voiceover Artist Radio Station Imaging David Kaye

VOICEOVER ARTIST RADIO STATION IMAGING
by David Kaye

I do a lot of radio imaging.

Many people call it “Radio Station Imaging,” or as I like to call it, “Promotional Branding and Station Identification.”

In this realm of the business, it is important to make sure that you’re set up as a proper company, that you’re a business. It is not a fly-by-night deal by any stretch of the imagination.

You’d better have the equipment. You’d better be prepared to work a lot and take care of your voice, because radio stations like to use you a lot.

In a contract, traditionally you’re committed to recording a page or two a month, whatever your agent negotiates, or whatever you negotiate for yourself. They’ll stretch that out. They’ll try to get as much as they possibly can out of a page. So radio station voice imaging is little bits and pieces and stuff and there is a page and stuff.

Typically, on a Monday or Friday a bulk of stuff will come in. That’s just the nature of the business.

The business has changed over the years, especially because of the Internet. There’s not as much money flowing around as it used to be. Some of the big companies are changing hands. We all know how that’s gone. The economy is different. But stations are still spending money on station voices. They are still going out and searching for them.

When someone listens to the radio station, in their head they’re hearing the imaging person the voice as the owner. If you’re hired to be the voice of a radio station, you’re that station’s identifier. You represent that station. It is a big responsibility. It’s not just, “You know, I do the voice.” No, that’s the sound of the station. So think of yourself as the radio station’s boss.

So if you’re going to be voicing stuff for radio stations, note that, first of all, the business has changed. There are even more opportunites now because there is satellite radio. There still are revenue stream issues, but if you want to get into it there is places you can put your voice. There are Internet radio stations.

You can do a lot of marketing on your own on the Internet to radio and TV stations. But be prepared to be a business. You’re a businessman. They want to hire you. They want you available. They want you versatile, and there is a certain style you need to keep in mind.

There are perimeters to being a radio imaging voice. So that means listening to what’s out there now, listening to what’s out there in the past, and maybe developing your own style…but within the perimeters. You’re selling the station. You are the station’s voice. That’s a big responsibility.

Banksy Prints Prove Popular With Celebrities

Work by graffiti artist Banksy has become so popular that celebrities regularly buy originals and prints.

In 2006 American pop singer and songwriter Christina Aguilera paid 25,000 for an original of Queen Victoria as a lesbian and two Banksy prints after arranging a private viewing at a Soho gallery where the Bristol-born urban artist was exhibiting.

Gallery owner Steve Lazarides told the Independent that the pop star already had an in-depth knowledge of Banksy prints and originals and knew exactly what sort of artwork she wanted to buy.

A friend of Aguilera said the musician would prize the Queen Victoria picture featuring the monarch in a lesbian pose with a prostitute and hang it in her living room.

“She’s been a huge fan of Banksy for months and was desperate to get her hands on some of his artwork,” they told the paper.

Banksy reportedly created the controversial piece in response to the fact that Queen Victoria famously refused to pass a law outlawing lesbianism as she refused to believe such things existed.

Hollywood mega-couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are amassing a growing collection of Banksy work having spent in excess of 1 million at a contemporary art auction in London in 2007.

Brangelina also controversially bought a Banksy painting of Michael Jackson which showed the King of Pop standing in the doorway of a cottage attempting to coax a young boy and girl into his house with sweets.

Brad Pitt told the Times at an exhibition in America that he becoming a fan of Banksy after discovering examples of his work through the media.

He said: “I think that this guy is really on to something. I first heard about him a year or so ago I saw something about him in a magazine.”

Keanu Reeves, Meg White and Jude Law are just some of the famous faces who have also been spotted viewing Banksy prints and originals at exhibitions in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Mr Lazarides said that Banksy prints and originals are popular with celebrities because they prefer contemporary art to classical masterpieces.

He told the Times: “They’ve got money and they don’t particularly want to spend it on a Picasso – they want to buy something that relates to their lives, their time and their culture.”

Banksy has famously painted subversive graffiti in places such as London Zoo, the British Museum and the wall dividing the West Bank in Israel.

Questions To Ask A Makeup Artist For Hire

Hiring a makeup artist can be nerve wracking. After all, those who need a makeup artist are most likely going to need it for a big event. It could be for a wedding or a photo shoot of some sort and if that’s the case, it’s important to have it done well. The right makeup artist could mean the difference between gorgeous photos and photos that will be a terrible reminder of a terrible day. Those who are going to hire a makeup artist would do well to take a look at the list of interview questions to ask below.

First, a good question to ask would be to ask how long the artist has been doing what he or she has been doing. This will give a good idea of the level of experience they have had. An experienced makeup artist is undoubtedly important. They will be able to handle the pressure better as well as they will be able to predict what types of makeup will be best for certain skin types.

Another good question to ask might be where they have done makeup before. There are very different weather conditions to understand which will affect the products used. Maryland makeup might need to be very different from California makeup, for instance. Some places have more humidity and heat than others and should be dealt with accordingly.

References are incredibly important when hiring anyone for any job. Of course, everyone is going to say good things about themselves regarding their abilities. It’s important, therefore, to check their stories with people who have hired them before. This will help to bring to light any red flags that should be seen and help in predicting if a hiring decision is a good one to make or not.

Flexibility is a good question to ask. After all, many times the stylist in question will be needed on multiple days and at specific times. If they are not easy to get a hold of or are incredibly busy, that may play a determining factor in the ultimate hiring decision. It’s important to get their time commitments nailed down before offering a job. This will ensure that everyone knows what is expected and is able to fulfill the expectations, whatever they may be. Indeed, a novice mistake is to hire a makeup artist and not ask any of the questions mentioned above, first. Those who are thorough in their selection process are those who will most likely end up the happiest of all.
